JustThoughtLounge: Uncovering Truths in the Johnson Case

Over the past couple of years, the case has been covered extensively. There have been Washington Post articles, social media discussion boards, a 20/20 episode, and a Dateline episode. There have also been podcasts and YouTube videos.

For the most part, this coverage has missed or ignored the key evidence in the case. It has focused almost exclusively on Chris Johnson’s “Vision Statement” while ignoring both the physical evidence against Johnson and the multiple ways in which Leonard’s incriminating statements against Johnson are corroborated. The show that came closest was Dateline, but even that episode caused a family member to state “It’s a shame that in two hours and after 20 years, they still couldn’t actually explain the evidence.”

Now, happily, a YouTube video has done just that. It’s called the JustThoughtLounge (JTL) and you can find the video here. The video has quickly changed the public narrative about the case, garnering over 200K views in its first week. For perspective, the next highest-ranking video about the case has only 37K views, after more than one year. We urge anyone interested in the case to watch and “like” the video. “Liking” the video will improve its search rankings, both generally and within YouTube, so that more people can learn this valuable information. A brief summary of the topics covered is below.

1. The crime scene that “wasn’t.” How could Chris Johnson have possibly missed the indicators of a crime scene that must have been all over the condo? What do we make of the fingerprint results, and his own admissions regarding cleaning?

2. The 911 call is played in its entirety. We hear not only Johnson’s calm tone, but also the extended way in which he states his alibi before stating the emergency. He states that he hesitated before calling as he wasn’t sure it was an actual emergency, because, “I mean, she was already dead.” Critically, he never reports the car as missing. This had the effect (intended or not) of giving Leonard additional time to get away in the car and wipe it down.

3. The secret pornography expenditures and their relationship to the “vision statement,” injuries noticed on Andrea at autopsy, the beach house, and potential motive are discussed.

4. The multiple ways in which Leonard’s account is corroborated are explored, including information he knew that apparently only Johnson could have told him. The myth that Leonard benefitted from his confession is thoroughly debunked.

5. The trail is discussed.

6. Johnson’s failed civil lawsuit, which was dismissed with prejudice for failing to state even a single claim, is discussed.

7. The episode ends with a statement from the victim’s son to the effect that he doesn’t need a guilty verdict to know what happened to his mother.

Some information that the video left out includes the direct evidence linking Johnson to Leonard by phone, Johnson hiding his knowledge of Leonard from the victim’s family in the days after the murder, and the evidence of a build-up in the days leading up to the murder. Follow the links included here for a complete account of those topics.
